Wkc shuts down Users looking to download short tracks or mods, or the main install of NR2003, from WKC are now met with a weird 404 error. Turns out, John Norton shut down WKC after drama rose up from Area 23 Track Designs shutting down. This was a huge turn of events as the community had virtually normal days leading up to this. Many users scrambled to archive and upload the files they downloaded prior to the site shutting down. It all started when Area 23 Track Designs posted on Facebook about shutting down due to harsh criticism from certain members of the community. Later, John Norton announced on Facebook that NASCAR Racing 2003 Season track building was "officially off the internet". This shocked the NR2003 community so much, that several posts on r/NR2003 were made regarding the community collapsing and backing up of the lost tracks and files. The day was probably one of the worst days in the past few years for the community. DRAMA ENDS To everyone's surprise, a Tweet was later made on Full Circle Racing Design's Twitter about Area 23 possibly coming back after a short break. This was good news as we didn't have to lose one of the few remaining track makers. Then, John Norton updated the WKC Facebook page to allow non-members and announced all the tracks will be posted on his Mediafire link. The Facebook page can be found here. Sadly, it looks like John Norton may be done with track making due to health issues leading to a leg amputation. This is very sad for someone who is a great NR2003 community contributor. Track making is something that requires all of the limbs of a person, as you will be driving around the track with a steering wheel and pedals making LP files for the track. Track making is a tedious process; easy if the track is simple: time consuming if the track requires a lot of work. Looks like the drama would end here and the community will go back to normal... right? "The modding elite"
the nr2003 source code project The programmer and creator of Sandbox 2.0, TChapman500 has started work on something that is deemed very controversial to the NR2003 community. Not the Jim Jack336 conspiracy, but work on disassembling NASCAR Racing 2003 Season to generate a source code. A source code that will future proof NR2003 for years to come.
new cws15 renders A couple hours ago on the NR2003 subreddit, FCRD (Full Circle Racing Designs), which is our brother elite modding group, showcased a paint scheme render on a beautiful, seemingly new truck mod taking a 200 MPH solo drive on the dark race surface at Daytona International Speedway. The render scene was made by James Hodge. The paint scheme in the video FCRD posted has a sponsor of Hungry Jack. The truck is seen in a cinematic aspect as the number logo "36" reflects the yellow sunlight of the seemingly afternoon day, as the audience would sense a smell of conspiracy in the misty air. The letter on the windshield reads "CAMPING WORLD" as the main NASCAR sponsor partnership in the real counterpart. The words seem to accompany the name of the driver on the sides of the truck, white letters and unique font read out the driver of the truck as being no one other than Jim Jack. we now host the official download to nr2003 Due to WKC shutting down, we are now hosting the download to NR2003 in our new MISC page. Also listed in the MISC page, are downloads to the various patches and add-ons for NR2003 that WKC left behind after the shut down. The page will continue to be updated as time goes on, so be sure to check it out regularly.
We also decided to add the Mods page to our website. Lost mods that no one really owns anymore will be listed on the site along with future creations from the NRE team. As time goes on, the overall site will be undergoing regular maintenance and updates as our incredible team works on various projects and goodies.
